Water Shortage Warning

Voluntary Restrictions

Notice – Voluntary Water Restrictions - Updated March 2017
St. Johns River Water Management District

According to information received in a report from the St. Johns River Water Management District the rainfall in our area has not been sufficient to keep us from having a water shortage this year.

Because of the predicted ware shortage the District has ask people in our area to place themselves under the guidelines of the District's "Voluntary Water Restriction".

The guidelines for these voluntary restrictions are as follows:

  1. All classes of water users are encouraged to reduce their water use and to conserve water to the maximum extent possible.

  2. All landscaping irrigation users, both residential and commercial, are urged to voluntarily reduce their water use by limiting irrigation to no more than two days each week and not to water lawns or use irrigation between the hours of 10AM and 4PM.

More voluntary or manditory restictions may come later if these restictions do not help enough in overcoming the effects of this water shortage. Please help in following the above guidelines to help insure everyone has enough water this summer.
